SEOS has been selected by CAE to provide a GRIFFIN rear-projected display system, for use on a prototype M-346 flight training device (FTD) that CAE is designing and manufacturing for Alenia Aermacchi (AAEM) for the M-346 program.
Based on the established 25-channel configuration, as used for F-35 Lightning II, this system will initially use 15 2015HC QXGA projectors, filling the primary forward screen section. This provides a field-of-view of 255°H x 95°V (+50°, -45°), and allows CAE to complete integration work prior to full installation. The system will also incorporate Mercator distortion correction, DigiBlend edge blending, autoalignment and remote control capability.

Quantum3D’s Independence IDX 4000 IG Solutions and Support Provide COTS High-Fidelity Virtual Environments.ST. LOUIS, MO, IMAGE 2008 Conference–June 16, 2008–Quantum3D, Inc., a leading provider of Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) real-time visual computing solutions, today announced that QuantaDyn has selected Quantum3D’s Independence IDX 4000 Image Generators (IG). QuantaDyn will leverage the IGs to update the U.S. Air Force’s KC-135 Boom Operator Weapons System Trainer (BOWST). By improving the BOWST’s image quality, Quantum3D’s Independence IDX 4000 will increase training effectiveness.
The primary purpose of the KC-135 Stratotanker is aerial aircraft refueling for Air
Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nations. The KC-135’s boom operator and aircrew use motion, shadows and other visual cues to maintain flight safety during refueling. Within minutes of extending the boom arm and connecting to a receiver aircraft, the KC-135 quickly transfers the fuel. The Air Force’s Air Mobility Command allows a prospective boom operator to qualify by completing virtual missions in high-fidelity boom-operator training devices in lieu of onboard a KC-135.

VT MÄK is please to announce the MÄK RTI PlusUp program. With this program all the features of the RTIplus are now included with a standard MÄK RTI license.
We understand that your programs are growing more complicated and more distributed. Advanced features that were once considered a luxury are now a necessity: the ability to look inside the RTI "black box" and remotely monitor the current state of your RTI, optimizations for wide-area networks (WANs), and even the ability to extend your RTI.

ITEC, Stockholmsmässan, Stockholm, Sweden, 10 - 12 June 2008 – Antycip Simulation, the European leader in simulation and training COTS tools have designed a customised projection system incorporating seven F20 sx+ projectors from projectiondesign. The system is installed in a training simulator located at the new headquarters of German technology company ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH (ESG) in Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany.
The new display system replicates the operation of the Tiger anti-tank helicopter and the CH-53 transport helicopter. Projected images from the SXGA+ resolution F20 sx+ projectors are warped and blended using two CompactUTM systems from 3DPerception to provide a seamless image and to aid immersion of the
pilot within the virtual environment.

We’re licensing our atmospherics system Simul Sky individually, as well as in a bundle with Clouds. Sky is a pretty nifty bit of software - you set the time, date, part of the world you’re in, and it first calculates where the sun is in the sky, and second, calculates the physically-correct sky colours. Where Sky really excels is at twilight, sunrise and sunset. Most scattering algorithms turn the whole sky yellow when the sun is low in the sky or below the horizon. Simul Sky gets it right. What’s also really cool about it is the number of calculations it takes to get a complete skydome - much fewer than you’d expect! So you can have the whole sky change in real time with minimum fuss.
