Newport, RI (February 25, 2008) - Representatives from Fujian LNG attended a research and training program at MarineSafety International's Newport, RI Simulator Learning Center from February 11th through February 22nd.
Working under an agreement with CNOCC - Fujian LNG Co., Ltd., MarineSafety
International built a detailed geographic and hydrographic model of Meizhou Bay and the LNG receiving terminal located in Fujian Province, China. MarineSafety used the model in a full mission bridge simulator that was linked to, and interactive with, tug simulators.

The research portion of the program evaluated wind speed and direction and current
strength to establish terminal operating limits and to establish arrival and departure rules and procedures.
Following the research, MarineSafety provided training for the pilots and tug masters
who will be handling the LNG ships calling at the terminal located at the north end of
Meizhou Bay.
The Fujian LNG project is the latest in a series of over 30 LNG terminal simulation
projects MarineSafety has performed during the past 5 years.
MarineSafety International has been providing shiphandling training to the commercial
maritime industry, and the United States Navy since 1974. MarineSafety owns and operates the Simulator Learning Center in Newport, Rhode Island. The Center utilizes the latest state-of-theart simulation techniques to provide a realistic decision-making environment without real-world risks.
