MAK, a company of VT Systems, today announced the release of VR-Vantage, version 1.1. This new version of VR-Vantage continues to offer customers more value in their 3D visualization software with new features, performance optimizations, and more integrated content. VR-Vantage 1.1 also marks the release of SensorFX, an add-on module to VR-Vantage from JRM Technologies.
Official Release
SensorFX changes VR-Vantage from a visual scene generator to a sensor scene generator. SensorFX models the physics of light energy as it is reflected and emitted from surfaces in the scene and as it is transmitted through the atmosphere and into a sensing device. SensorFX also models the collection and processing properties of the sensing device to render an accurate electro-optical (EO), night vision or infrared (IR) scene.
Along with the support for the new sensor capability, the latest release of VR-Vantage includes visualization of tactical graphics, including route, waypoints, and height cues. VR-Vantage 1.1 also includes support for Linux operating systems.
VR-Vantage 1.1 was used as the foundation for the latest version of the recently released VR-Forces 3D GUI. The VR-Forces 3D GUI allows users to drag and drop models directly within the 3D scene to interactively create, place, and task entities. Entities can be rotated and moved into position behind doors, on the stairs between floors, under a bridge overpass, in fact anywhere in the 3D scene. Simple controls allow users to keep ground vehicles clamped to the terrain as they move them around, or to drag air vehicles to a desired elevation.
MÄK will be demonstrating the capabilities of VR-Vantage 1.1, the SensorFX module, and the VR-Forces 3D GUI at I/ITSEC, November 30 – December 3, booth #1819.
VR-Vantage, which is built on OpenSceneGraph (OSG), consists of the next generation MÄK Stealth, MÄK’s 3D information station; Vantage IG, a desktop image generator for viewing out-the-window scenes; and the VR-Vantage toolkit to extend the included visual applications or even build new applications.
