Official Press Release
With the costs of training devices and solutions continuing to fall and their capability increasing, “low-cost” approaches are being investigated and adopted by a range of users, such as rail, road, maritime, medical, industrial, security and emergency response. In addition, these devices and training approaches provide cost effective solutions for specific training tasks for defence and civil aviation. Technological approaches using Serious Games and part task trainers form part of the “low-cost” training mix but, as with all training, to gain the maximum benefit, users need to take a systems approach to the purchase and adoption of this type of training.
The objectives of this seminar are to show new low-cost developments and ideas that are, or could be used, in applications for skills training in, primarily, the sectors indicated above, but could also provide training solutions in other sectors such as defence and civil aviation; and ensure that they are used in a cost-effective way.
This seminar is supported by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the Serious Games Institute (SGI), and is organised by Andrich International Ltd and Halldale Media Group. Andrich, founded in 1987 by Richard Curtis who had been in the T&S industry for the previous seven years, was the main creator of ITEC and the European Training & Simulation Association (ETSA); and has organised more than 40 training & simulation conferences/seminars worldwide.
