Developer Bohemia Interactive, recognized in gaming circles for its Operation Flashpoint series of titles, have announced that the Koninklijke Landmacht (the Royal Netherlands Army) recently held an opening day event for the general public, during which Bohemia's Virtual Battlespace 2 (VBS2) training software has prominently featured.
The Ministry of Defence of the Sultanate of Oman, have recently placed an order with Micro Nav in the UK for a range of the BEST ATM simulators for the Oman Aircraft Control College (OACC), which is jointly owned by BAE Systems. The major order includes BEST radar and tower simulators with special military features as well as an advanced fighter controller system. The project integrates 18 Controller, 21 Pseudo-Pilot and a suite of Data Preparation and Support positions.

Kongsberg Maritime - Process Simulation Unit has recently been awarded a major contract by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Kuwait for the complete modelling and simulation of all Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) pipeline networks as part of a major DNV risk assessment project.

The Interservice/Industrial Training, Simulation and Education conferences (I/ITSEC) has sent a call out to serious game developers to submit their original serious games for the 2007 I/ITSEC Serious Games Showcase and Challenge.
While the overarching purpose of the Serious Games Showcase & Challenge has been in previous years to identify innovative game based solutions to problems that could affect the U.S. military, this year's event is expanding its scope to include any genre, such as business, education or government.

Serious games company Virtual Heroes, which specializes in creating learning solutions for federal systems, digital health and corporate training, has announced a strategic partnership with contractor Camber Corporation. Together, the two companies will combine technological resources in order to secure large government contracts and "drive the development of interactive training solutions and products."
The agreement will also allow the firms to share technical expertise, contract support and marketing resources as both companies will work together to build a joint team, as well as a common technology base and brand identity.
Representatives from developer Bohemia Interactive, recognized in gaming circles for its Operation Flashpoint series of titles, have announced that the UK Ministry of Defense (UK MoD) has purchased an enterprise license for Virtual Battlespace 2 (VBS2) and Calytrix's Live-Virtual-Constructive training system.
The license, distributed through Bohemia's strategic partner Calytrix Technologies, provides the UK MoD with a simulation solution for use in collective and tactical training, mission rehearsal, experimentation and terrain/3D model visualization for AO familiarization. Virtual Battlespace is an interactive training system inspired by the Operation Flashpoint titles and used for military and civilian combat and experimentation purposes.

AgustaWestland and Saab Training Systems have jointly developed an airborne Cabin/Door Gun Training System that utilises existing helicopter weapon installations. It takes skill and lots of practice to hit targets with a machine gun from a fast moving helicopter so the new Cabin/Door Gun Training System, which enables any flight to be utilised as a training mission, allows gunners to build up highly realistic experience without the need for live firing or dedicated gunner training flights.

 The U.S. Army has announced that it has signed an estimated $2 million sponsorship deal with the Global Gaming League website as a means to recruit candidates from the site's readership, 80 percent of which are 17-24 year old males.
According to a report by USA Today, the Army sees this deal as a potential step towards reaching a demographic that is generally more difficult to reach through traditional advertising channels.

Orlando, Fla, February 20, 2007 --( LOCKHEED MARTIN Selected To Provide Live, Virtual Training Systems To Kuwait National Guard ) Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has been awarded a contract by the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) to provide live and virtual training systems at individual, team and command levels.
Lockheed Martin will provide the KNG with Small Arms Skills trainers, which provide marksmanship and complex tactical scenario training; a High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) Combat Trainer, which combines individual and team skills into vehicle based operations; and Turret Gunnery Trainers, which will enable Pandur vehicle crews to learn gunnery skills, characteristics of the vehicle and crew coordination.

Copenhagen, Denmark (January 30th 2007). DALT is pleased to announce that Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems (NGIS) has selected DALT to provide a Virtual Team Trainer System (VTTS) demonstration system for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program.
The VTTS Demonstrator project simulates a real time 3-D virtual airbase environment where maintenance personnel can practice maneuvering airplanes and maintenance tasks. The VTTS is designed to support team training and facilitate student development in the areas of decision-making, coordination, communication as well as providing access to F-35 technical data.
The VTTS will facilitate multiple team member (students) interaction and allow an instructor to introduce new events to the scene. The team members will communicate together through headsets.

Madrid, 17 January 2007-( Spanish jet pilot school goes international: Agreement on Talavera European fighter school signed )The Spanish Air Force (SpAF) and the EADS Defence & Security Systems Division in Spain have launched the new European Advanced Training Jet Pilot School at Talavera la Real, located in the Extremadurian province of Badajoz. The agreement between the two partners is part of the transformation process of the Armed Forces of Spain to optimize excellent existing resources. In this specific case, the two partners combine their forces to enhance and adapt the present Jet Pilot School of the SpAF and to offer its advanced training courses to foreign air forces.
AERO has finished assembly of the first out of a total of four two-seat training L-159T1 aircraft (s/n 6069) for the Czech Air Force (CzAF). The assembly comprises of complete equipment with all devices and primary verification of some of its systems.

LUTON, U.K., 22 Jan. 2007. Argon Electronics LLP has completed a substantial contract for supply of ACADAS instrumented simulation training systems for use by the U.S. Army Reserve and all 55 of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams (WMD CSTs).
The contract, valued at more than $5 million, saw delivery of several hundred units between May 2005 and July 2006. While this contract represents the largest single order supply of this product to date, ACADAS has also been supplied to other U.S.
The Corporate Media Award jury presented the “Award of Master – Member of the European Masterclass” to the German company Ray Sono. The prize was awarded for the media based communication concept “PC based Virtual Reality Simulation of state-of-the-art Submarines”, which was developed and implemented by the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH in cooperation with Ray Sono.
