The National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS) at the University of Iowa has received a $507,530 contract from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to examine the extent to which an average driver can take advantage of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) systems and how these systems affect the driver's ability to avoid crashes.

Rheinmetall Defence Electronics (RDE) builds demonstrator for "Networked Combat and Simulation Systems".
The event is scheduled for October 12-15, 2004 at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The Object Management Group (OMG), Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO), and Web3D Consortium agreed last year to collaborate on open, non-proprietary standards for Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and related technologies, forming the WebSim Partnership.
In its eighth year, the 2004 International Symposium on Distributed Simulation and Real Time Applications (DS-RT 2004) will take place at the Park Hotel Flamenco, Budapest, Hungary, just after the European Simulation Symposium (ESS 2004).
Revenues for the second quarter of 2004 were $3.7 million compared to $3.3 million in the first quarter of 2004, an increase of 12%. In the second quarter of 2003 revenues were $4.4 million.
Revenues in the first six months of 2004 were $7.1 million, compared to $8.6 million for the first six months of 2003

McGraw's company, RealSims LLC, has launched a field-deployable flight-training simulator.

SGI announced results for its fourth fiscal quarter and fiscal year 2003, which ended June 27, 2003. Revenue for the fourth quarter was $240 million, compared with $217 million in the preceding quarter. Gross margin increased to 40.3% from 37.1% in the previous quarter.
